Organic Beauty: What is your ecological footprint?

I am an Organic Beauty

Reposted with permission from

Ever since I got pregnant, I discovered my obsession for beauty, make-up and skin care products and found out that a lot of them have HARMFUL chemicals, not only to us, but our loved ones, as well. Eventually, I’ve grown a deep love and commitment to organic living and products and decided to dedicate this blog on HEALTHY MAKEUP and HEALTHY SKIN CARE with mini spurts of my different interests and passion, here and there. (Read my love and hate relationship with MAKEUP and SKINCARE here.) Lately, we all know about the tremendous climate change happening globally. Why not use our little vain selves and contribute to the world in our own little way? :D Besides, we all do want to look incredible at the same time, we still do want our children to live and breathe clean air and environment someday right? We want to leave a healthy generation.

Are you an ECO BEAUTY?

Here are other quick simple “NON DRASTIC” steps that you can start doing:

1. Turn off the lights when not used. Change your light bulbs to energy saving. (Switch one appliance to an energy efficient model (look for the “energy star” label).)
2. Save water. Fix leaks. (Do not leave water while brushing, Collect rainwater, and use it to water your houseplants and garden.)
3. Don’t use dryer as possible. (Dry clothes naturally)
4. Convert all your junk snail mails and bills into electric ones.
5. Buy magazines online. (Hello to e-magazines! Donate old magazines.)
6. Create homemade cleansers instead of buying.
7. Bring your reusable bags during grocery.
8. Use reusable water bottles instead of buying plastic ones. Use coffee mugs on your favorite coffee houses.
9. Buying organic local homegrown food and coffee (My favorite place is Salcedo Market every Saturday).. or better grow your food at the backyard
10. Follow green blogs such as GreenLifestyle, Keeper of the Home,Kitchen Stewardship, Live Renewed, and of course, Simple Homemade.
11. Get a green car. This is my ultimate dream wish someday!
12. Buy vegan/organic/cruelty-free make-up.
13. Don’t wear makeup as much as possible.
14. Simplify your skin care routine or resort to healthy makeup and skincare.
15. Switch one appliance to an energy efficient model (look for the “energy star” label).
16. Combine errands in just one trip.
17. Walk or ride a bike if possible.
18. Turn off your computers at night. Unplug unused chargers and appliances. Donate and recycle electronics.
19. Reuse paper. (Use cloth as possible especially in the kitchen)
10. Fashion. Buy eco-friendly fashion lines. (Wear clothes that don’t need to be dry-cleaned. This saves money and cuts down on toxic chemical use. )Never throw your clothes. Donate to charitable institutions
21. Use Green Decor for your house.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Resale. Invest in high-quality, long-lasting products. You might pay more now, but you’ll be happy when you don’t have to replace items as frequently (and this means less waste!)

Little things, make huge differences.

Share your new commitment to the world!
